Year 6
WELCOME!
Hello and welcome to our Year 6 class page.
The adults supporting your child in Year 6 this year are Miss. McTeague (Class Teacher) as well Miss Maksymuk (Teaching Assistant). Our phase leader is Miss. Doan - our Deputy Headteacher.
A member of the Year 6 team will greet your child on the door each morning. Please do not hesitate to speak to a member of the Year 6 team should you have any queries or questions and we will do all we can to help you.
During Autumn 1 , Year 6's PE days will be on a Monday. Please ensure your child comes to school dressed in their PE kits on these days. We have swimming every Friday. Your child needs to come to school in their school uniform with their swimming kits / towels in a bag. Please see the Curriculum Overview for more information.

READING
As part of our reading journey in Year 6, your child will have a 'Guided Reading' lesson every day where we will focus on a different skill each day.
During the course of the week, Miss Maksymuk will listen to children read on a 1:1 basis. Please ensure that your child brings their reading book and reading record to school each day.
Please continue to listen to your child read at home and sign their reading records as our 'Reading Raffle' will continue in Celebration Assembly 😊.
SWIMMING
Please see the below PowerPoint for all the information you will need for swimming this half term.

To select question types, click on the question number. (You can select more than one question at a time.)
Next, click 'New', and the questions that match the types you selected will appear. (If there are too many, you can change the number of questions in the drop down box at the top, then click 'New' again.)
To return to the original set of questions, click 'Reset'.
Whichever page you are on, to change the questions to a new set, simply click 'New'.
You can check your answers once you have finished by clicking 'Answers'.
Homework
Each child in Year 6 has been provided with a reading record, spelling diary and times table diary. Spellings will be sent home each week. Children should practice their spellings in their spelling diary and read with an adult at least three times per week.
Watch out for more exciting news and stories from our wonderful class on our Instagram page - we post several stories each week. You can find us by scanning the QR code below using your smartphone camera.
